Case Study: Aflac and Toy Story 3

Case Study:

Bridge to Hollywood brought Aflac and Disney/Pixar together again for a second collaboration, this time with Disney/Pixar’s TOY STORY 3 in the summer of 2010. Aflac and Pixar created a co-branded thirty-second commercial featuring Randy Newman’s “You Got A Friend In Me” music and starring the company’s spokes-duck who is placed in the daycare center with the movie’s characters to reinforce Aflac’s message of reliability in tough times. A toy can’t do its job well if it’s hurt and that’s why Aflac is there to pay you cash fast to help you get back on your feet.

The commercial was broadcast across TV networks as well as in movie theaters. Aflac also supported the film by leveraging its NASCAR presence by creatively incorporating TOY STORY 3 movie imagery on their No. 99 car for an appearance at the June 20, 2010 NASCAR race in Sonoma, California.

Aflac held screenings in 20 major markets across the country for their sales teams and clients to attend.

TOY STORY 3 is poised to pass the $400 Million mark in domestic box office revenues, making it Disney’s second highest grossing movie ever – just behind the second Pirates of the Caribbean.
